Day 2 in London was nothing like I had expected but everything I could have wished for. G and I made it a goal to hit many of the big tourist attractions that the city has to offer. We visited Camden Market, the London Eye, Westminster, and of course, Buckingham Palace. My friend Stella recommended Camden Market and it did not disappoint. The market is a community of creative goods, street food vendors and independent stores. From vintage gear to crystal shops, we could have spent hours shopping around. But alas, we are ballin’ on a budget and had to continue on with our day. It felt absolutely surreal walking across the London bridge and existing within one of the world’s most historic cities. Westminster was filled with tourists from all parts of the world. There is so much to appreciate while walking through the crowds and hearing hundreds of different dialects.

We ended our day of exploration with some fish n chips at The Sanctuary House. We ended up having to take a slight detour on the way back to our hotel after taking the wrong train. I really thought I had the system down, but I guess even the best of us make mistakes. Our post power nap turned into a 3-hour slumber and we woke up with a plan for a girl’s night out.
We found the bar, Blame Gloria, via Tik Tok. A couple of sparkly cocktails turned into some of our first favorite memories thus far. We met our first friends. Luc, Chelsea, Laura, and Jess are all cousins from Cape Town, South Africa. The six of us were the only people in the bar for quite a bit until the locals started rolling in. We took some tequila shots, had a few more drinks, and sang our hearts out to Abba on the dance floor. We exchanged numbers with a few of the locals at the bar and have plans to meet up with them later tonight. G and I were so excited to connect with such wonderful people and share some fabulous memories. The night flew by and before we knew it, it was 2am and closing time at our new favorite little bar. I am so excited to see what the short rest of our time in London has in store.
